{"id":3859,"date":"2021-06-28T17:26:27","date_gmt":"2021-06-28T15:26:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/visitbuggiano.com\/pisa\/"},"modified":"2021-06-28T17:26:28","modified_gmt":"2021-06-28T15:26:28","slug":"pisa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/visitbuggiano.com\/en\/pisa\/","title":{"rendered":"Pisa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The city of the Leaning Tower, but not only!<\/p>\n\n<p>Entering the city through the entrance door to the Piazza dei miracoli is certainly the best way to approach the visit.<\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>Cathedral<\/strong>, the <strong>Baptistery<\/strong>, the <strong>Camposanto<\/strong> and the <strong>Museo dell&#8217;Opera del Duomo<\/strong> have been located on the square for centuries, perfect to be discovered while walking.<br\/>However, it is undeniable that the undisputed queen of the square is the <em>Tower<\/em> itself. It has become a <em>symbol of Pisa<\/em> and in many ways also of Tuscany, it is wonderful to admire with the nose upwards or even more so, being able to climb its steps to look out from its top towards the whole city.<br\/>In the center, however, it also offers other less known but very particular corners: the Palazzo dell\u2019Orologio and the Piazza dei Cavalieri for example, which also overlooks the Palazzo della caravan, seat of the prestigious Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa.<\/p>\n\n<p>The city is beautiful to see all year round, but in particular during the celebration of the patron saint San Ranieri, on June 17 it dresses up.<br\/>The evening before, June 16, the <strong>traditional Luminara<\/strong> takes place in the city. The whole city is lit by candles placed on the facades of the buildings, a tradition that seems to date back to 1688.<br\/><strong>Balconies, windows and frames light up with over 70,000 candles which, reflecting on the Arno River, which flows through the center of the city, create a vibrant and very suggestive atmosphere.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The city of the Leaning Tower, but not only!
