The Tuscan seaside

the Tuscan seaside

From Buggiano to reach the Tuscan sea is easy!
By car or by train you can get to Viareggio and Versilia in about 40 minutes, or head to Livorno and the Etruscan coast and reach them in an hour.

You could choose to take a walk in Viareggio, a city of art nouveau style, famous for its “walk” with a string of shops and bathing establishments.
The sloping sandy coast is perfect for spending carefree time on the beach and at the sea, especially with children.
But the city also offers many ideas for young people, who can find clubs and a very fun nightlife.
If you are on holiday in Tuscany during the Carnival period, a stop here is really a must!

Just north of Viareggio is Massa Carrara with its beautiful marble quarries, and the peaks of the Apuan Alps that offer many opportunities for trekking, with very suggestive trails.
Pietrasanta, a city rich in culture and art with its beautiful Romanesque Cathedral and meeting place of international sculptors and artists.

Further south Torre del lago Puccini offers its beautiful lake of Massaciuccoli, loved by photographers and photography enthusiasts for its scenic views and walkways to do on foot.

For a dip in crystal clear waters you can go as far as Livorno, Castiglioncello or even further south towards the Etruscan Coast, where the sea offers sandy beaches alternating with cliffs very suggestive.
