Trail N°2 is assigned brown. The path is ring and is marked with directional arrows of green and light blue. The path starts from the main car park of Colle di Buggiano, where you can park for free.
From the car park you go up the ancient paved road leading to the medieval village and in a few minutes you reach the main square outside the walls, where you can admire the Romanesque Church of S.Lorenzo. From the square through the door you walk through the small village, let yourself be inspired by the small streets that you will encounter will take you all to the exit.
When you reach the north gate, you leave the village behind and following the arrows you arrive at the provincial road to the locality Margine dei Ferri. Turning left and then immediately right continue to Le Poiane, proceed walking next to the river Cessana between oaks and chestnut trees until you reach the ruin of an ancient nineteenth-century powder keg.
The country’s elders say that during World War II all gunpowder was hidden under this bridge.
At the junction follow the path n. 2 to the right, in the first stretch of climb pay attention to the signs, you have to turn right towards Cucco and Vinzacchia.
After one km you will find another junction, head left and shortly after you have to turn right to Pinetone reaching the highest panoramic point of the route.
Leaving the forest on the left you reach the locality Casa di Pietra and from here go down to the left at the locality Nonni (municipal road), continuing on the left pass under the farm La Fagianaia per then follow the signs for the path n.
Going down you reach the Mill of Maciste turn right taking the cobblestone road, at the end of the descent keep left. The mule track will take you to the village of Colle, passing through the ditch you will arrive at the starting point of the walk.
